Tokyo, March 28, 2019 – Rakuten Mobile Network, Inc., a Rakuten Group company, announced that at the General Shareholders Meeting held on March 28, 2019, a resolution was passed to change the corporate name of Rakuten Mobile Network, Inc. to Rakuten Mobile, Inc., effective April 1, 2019.
Under the new, simplified corporate name, Rakuten Mobile will operate the new mobile network operator (MNO) carrier business planned to launch in October 2019, as well as the existing mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) business which the company will take over in line with the group reorganization by a corporate split* from April 1, 2019, in addition to a comprehensive lineup of services related to mobile communications. Rakuten Mobile aims to provide an appealing and convenient experience that meets the needs of customers.
