Rakuten Clutch Now Accepting Donations for March 2022 Fukushima Earthquake Emergency Relief Fund

Tokyo, March 29, 2022 – The Rakuten Group extends its deepest sympathies to all those who have been affected by the recent earthquake off the coast of Fukushima Prefecture in March 2022. We sincerely hope for the swift recovery of the affected regions.

Rakuten is now accepting donations for the March 2022 Fukushima Earthquake Emergency Relief Fund through its online donation system, the Rakuten Clutch Special Charity Fund.

The Rakuten Clutch Special Charity Fund is an initiative launched in 2011 following the Great East Japan Earthquake. As more and more aid continued to flow in from both domestic and international sources, many requests were received to be allowed to make donations online. Over the years many have donated through the fund, and this support has been directed primarily towards raising funds to provide natural disaster relief both in Japan and internationally.

Those wishing to make donations can choose from a variety of payment methods including Rakuten Points, Rakuten Card, other credit cards, and cash transfers to a designated Rakuten Bank account, as indicated below.

Donations accepted through this emergency relief fund will be used by the Japanese Red Cross Society to support those affected by the earthquake. Donations will be accepted through April 27, 2022*1.

Going forward, Rakuten will continue providing aid to those in need through a diversity of support methods, as part of our ongoing mission to empower people and society.

*1 The donation period may be extended depending on future developments.
