Rakuten Group Sends Support to the People and Regions Affected by the Heavy Rains in Kyushu

Tokyo, July 7, 2020 – The Rakuten Group wishes to extend its deepest sympathies to those affected by the heavy rains that continue to fall across the whole of Kyushu.

In order to support the recovery of the region as quickly as possible, Rakuten, Inc. is now accepting donations through the Rakuten Clutch Special Charity Fund to support victims of the heavy rains in Kyushu. Rakuten is also accepting donation applications for local governments affected by this natural disaster through the Rakuten Hometown Tax Payment website. In addition, Rakuten Group services are offering support and conducting initiatives for the disaster-affected regions and people, as indicated below.

Donations through Rakuten Clutch will be presented to local governments with the purpose of assisting those affected by the disaster.

The Rakuten Group is committed to making the most of the internet to empower the provision of aid to those in need.

■Overview of the Rakuten Clutch Special Charity Fund to support victims of the Kyushu heavy rains of July 2020

3. How to donate:
1) Rakuten Points
One Rakuten Point will be converted to one yen. Donations accepted starting from one point.

2) Credit card
Contributors may use any VISA or Mastercard card, including Rakuten Card. Donations accepted starting from 100 yen.

3) Cash bank transfer to a designated Rakuten Bank account. (Scheduled to begin July 8, 2020)
Donations from Rakuten Bank accounts are accepted 24 hours a day. Donations accepted starting from one yen. Contributors without a Rakuten Bank account may donate directly to a dedicated account. Details will be posted on the Rakuten Bank website from July 8 onwards.

*Contributors must log in with their Rakuten ID when donating using Rakuten Points or a credit card.
*The Rakuten Clutch Special Charity Fund does not issue receipts. Donations and contributions are not eligible for tax deductions.
*No transfer fees will be charged for donations through Rakuten Bank accounts.
*Transfers of donations from accounts at banks other than Rakuten Bank will incur transfer fees as determined by the respective bank of the account holder.
*Due to the expansion of the affected area, the name of this donation initiative has been changed to "Donation for Japan heavy rains of July 2020" as of July 8.

In addition, local governments will not charge transaction fees for disaster support donation applications made through the page above.
