Rakuten LIFULL STAY’s Booking Site “Vacation STAY” Now Accepting Bookings for Vacation Rentals in Vietnam

Tokyo, December 12, 2019 - Rakuten LIFULL STAY, Inc., a Rakuten Group company providing vacation rental services in Japan, announced that from today it has begun accepting bookings for vacation rental properties listed on Luxstay, an online vacation rental booking platform in Vietnam operated by Luxstay PTE. LTD, on its own booking site “Vacation STAY,” which is one of Japan’s largest vacation rental booking sites. This marks the first time users are able to book overseas vacation rentals through Vacation STAY.

The number of overseas tourists visiting Vietnam is rapidly increasing, with the number more than tripling from 2010 to 2018*1, and the travel market is expected to expand further. By country, the number of Japanese tourists is the third largest, surpassing 800,000 for the first time in 2018 *2. As the systems of both companies are now linked, travelers from Japan who are visiting Vietnam can now use Vacation STAY to book vacation rental properties in Vietnam listed on Luxstay, including houses, villas and condominiums. Moreover, after booking, travelers can also access Luxstay’s 24-hour Japanese language customer service.

Through this agreement, Luxstay will aim to grow its business and further expand the rapidly growing vacation rental market in Vietnam by expanding its sales channels for vacation rentals in Vietnam to Vacation STAY and other domestic and international travel booking services linked to Vacation STAY. Going forward, Rakuten LIFULL STAY will further expand the number of overseas properties listed on Vacation STAY in order to provide travelers with a diverse range of accommodation experiences.
