Rakuten Card to Launch Vissel Kobe and Iniesta Design Credit Cards

Tokyo, November 27, 2018 - Rakuten Card Co., Ltd. today announced that it will begin accepting applications for and issuing two new Rakuten Cards incorporating designs featuring J.League football club Vissel Kobe and Vissel Kobe midfielder Andres Iniesta starting from November 30.

Customers will be given the opportunity to choose between the “Vissel Kobe” design, bearing the team emblem on the official team color "crimson red" background, and the Iniesta design, which bears the portrait of the world-class soccer player Andres Iniesta, who joined the club this May. Rakuten Card hopes the releases of these new designs brings an opportunity for fans of Vissel Kobe and Andres Iniesta to apply for a Rakuten Card.

To commemorate the launch of the new Vissel Kobe and Iniesta designed cards, Rakuten Card will hold a campaign in which new customers applying for one of the above cards will have the opportunity to enter a drawing for a chance to receive Vissel Kobe merchandise.

Since its launch in July 2005, Rakuten Card has continued to grow, with the number of cardholders surpassing 16 million in August 2018. In addition to the two new card designs, Rakuten Card also offers Rakuten Cards with designs featuring Okaimono Panda (or Shopping Panda), FC Barcelona and Rakuten Eagles, among others.

Going forward, Rakuten Card aims to expand its credit card services and features, and make the financial services of the Rakuten Group even more convenient in order to further increase customer satisfaction.

2. Purchases made on Rakuten Ichiba will earn three times the amount of Rakuten Super Points when the Super Point Up Program is being held. (Includes time limited Rakuten Super Points)
