Tokyo, May 21, 2024 - Rakuten Group, Inc. today announced that it will support Japanese brand M A S U’s runway show during Paris Fashion Week 2025 S/S as a special partner through its “by R” project. M A S U is the sixth winner of the Fashion Prize Of Tokyo*1, an award organized by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Japan Fashion Week Organization.
Through the “by R” project, Rakuten will sponsor the production of M A S U 2025 S/S collections and will continue to champion the brand’s activities throughout the fashion season after Paris Fashion Week, including exhibitions and photo shoots in Tokyo. Rakuten will also support the sales of M A S U products on Rakuten Fashion, its e-commerce platform dedicated to fashion.
Rakuten partnered with the Japan Fashion Week Organization to become the title sponsor for TOKYO Fashion Week in August 2019 and the event was renamed Rakuten Fashion Week TOKYO. The “by R” project is committed to empowering the Japanese fashion scene by placing the spotlight on select, unique brands loved by a broad range of fans both in Japan and around the world, expanding Japan-based and global opportunities for these Rakuten-selected brands*2.
Through the “by R” project, Rakuten will continue to empower and contribute to the development of the fashion industry.
