Hanoi, Vietnam, 27 September 2018 - Rakuten LIFULL STAY, Inc., a Rakuten Group company providing vacation rental services in Japan, and a fast growing vacation rental booking platform in Vietnam, Luxstay, today announced that the two companies have signed an agreement to collaborate in the vacation rental business.
Under the agreement, Rakuten LIFULL STAY will provide its inventory of Japanese vacation rental properties listed on its vacation rental and accommodation booking site “Vacation STAY” to Luxstay, allowing travelers in Vietnam to reserve accommodation properties in Japan through Luxstay’s online booking platform. Luxstay will also provide its listings to “Vacation STAY”, enabling Japanese travelers to have more choices when they stay in Vietnam. In addition, the two companies will collaborate on marketing activities aimed at Japanese tourists visiting Vietnam and Vietnamese tourists visiting Japan.
The agreement will also see Rakuten LIFULL STAY and Luxstay examine the possibility of jointly develop and supply Rakuten STAY properties in Vietnam and other Asian countries in the future. This would be the first time for Rakuten LIFULL STAY to consider developing vacation rental accommodation properties under the Rakuten STAY brand outside of Japan. Rakuten LIFULL STAY and Luxstay will begin discussions about the development of vacation rental properties in Vietnam and aim to open the first Rakuten STAY property in the country.
