On March 10, 2005, Rakuten held an extraordinary board meeting and voted upon and agreed to make an investment in Kokunai Shinpan Co. Kokunai Shinpan is a consumer credit company based in Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture. The company offers credit card services, shopping credit services and card loan services. Rakuten, Inc. will take a 55.5% stake in the company and make it into a subsidiary company. (For full release, please refer to Japanese IR release.)
