Rakuten Travel Strengthens Collaboration with IHG Hotels & Resorts, Announces MoU to Link Member Loyalty Programs

Tokyo, February 6, 2024 - Rakuten Group, Inc. today announced that its travel reservation service Rakuten Travel, a leading online travel agency in Japan, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with hotel chain IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) to consider collaborating on a seamless travel booking experience linking the two companies’ loyalty programs. This is the first time that IHG has signed an MoU with a Japanese travel reservation service. 

Rakuten Travel and IHG will carry out discussions with the aim of improving services and customer experiences for members of Rakuten and its flagship loyalty program, Rakuten Points, together with IHG One Rewards, the loyalty program run by IHG. Details of specific initiatives based on the MoU will be announced in the near future.
