Tokyo, May 20, 2015 - Fusion Communications Corp., the telecommunications company of the Rakuten Group, today announced that as of today it will begin accepting reservations for the “honor6 Plus”, the latest smartphone from Huawei Technologies Japan K.K., as part of its Rakuten Mobile device and SIM card sets*1. The sale and shipment of the device is scheduled to start in mid-June. Rakuten Mobile is the only telecommunications carrier to be offering the honor6 Plus in Japan*2.
The honor6 Plus is equipped with two rear-mounted 8 megapixel cameras in a “double lens” configuration. The two cameras make it possible to freely change the focus and aperture after photos have been taken, which allows it to produce images like those from a single lens reflex camera. The smartphone is also equipped with an 8 megapixel front-facing camera, which allows the user to take finely-textured photos while confirming them on the display. What is more, it is also equipped with high dynamic range (HDR), which can adjust the light and focal point even for moving subjects that are backlit, as well as Super Night Mode, which makes it possible to take beautiful night scenery photos. Aside from its cameras, the honor6 Plus is a high specification smartphone with a 5.5-inch full HD display, a 3600mAh high capacity battery, and a high performance octa-core Kirin 925 processor.
As a device being sold as part of Rakuten Mobile’s device and SIM card sets, the honor6 Plus will come pre-installed with a variety of Rakuten Group apps. Users can quickly begin using apps like Rakuten Denwa and Viber, as well as Rakuten Ichiba, Rakuten Travel, and Rakuten Gateway, which will allow the user to easily access Rakuten various services.
In addition, a campaign is being held in which customers who apply for the honor6 Plus and a SIM card from Rakuten Mobile will receive a genuine leather smart cover as a present on the activation of their contract.
By offering the honor6 Plus, Rakuten Mobile is accommodating the needs of users who have plenty of opportunities to take photos with their smartphones. Moving forward, Rakuten Mobile will strive to enhance its line-up of services in order to accommodate the wide-ranging needs of its customers.
