The Rakuten Recipe for Tablets “What shall we cook today?” app from Rakuten, Inc. (“Rakuten,” Chairman and CEO: Hiroshi Mikitani, Head Office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo) now comes preinstalled on the DOCOMO Tablet ARROWS Tab LTE F-01D Android™ tablet sold by NTT DOCOMO, Inc. (“DOCOMO,” CEO: Ryuji Yamada, Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo). The tablet is made by Fujitsu, Ltd (CEO: Masami Yamamoto, Head Office: Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Pref.) This marks the first time that an app provided by Rakuten has been preinstalled on an Android™ tablet.
The Rakuten Recipe for Tablets “What shall we cook today?” app is pre-installed on DOCOMO’s F-01D tablet, a high-spec waterproof tablet that can safely be taken into kitchens or the bath. Typically, apps need to be searched and installed manually from the Android™ Market. However, as this app is already installed, users can browse or search new recipes from the home screen as soon as they start up their new F-01D. The app also allows users to post their own original recipes online.
The F-01D is an Android™ tablet that is both water resistance and lightweight, making it a cinch to use around the kitchen and a breeze for beginners. Rakuten expects the tie-up to boost the awareness and usage of its popular Rakuten Recipe service.
The Rakuten Recipe service began on October 1, 2010. Users get 50 Rakuten Super Points when they post an original recipe to the site, a successful initiative that has resulted in the site amassing over 260,000 original recipes in one year (as of the end of September).
Rakuten aims to further increase user satisfaction by continuing to meet an ever-growing range of needs with better services and improved functions.
