Rakuten Auction Launches New “Auction Yu-Pack” Service

-- Logistics partnership awards auction holders Rakuten Super Points --

Rakuten Auction, Inc. (“Rakuten Auction,” President: Toru Funaki, Head Office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo), which operates Rakuten’s auction website, together with Japan Post Service Company (“Japan Post,” President: Shinichi Nabekura, Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) will launch a new service as part of Japan Post’s “Yu-Pack” parcel delivery service on September 16th called “Auction Yu-Pack.”

Auction Yu-Pack is a service in which the seller will be given 30 Rakuten Super Points whenever they send a successfully bid item using Japan Post’s Yu-Pack service from a post office, Yuyu-Madoguchi or other location that ships Yu-Pack parcels on behalf of Japan Post. 30 Rakuten Super Points will be given for each Yu-Pack parcel sent.

Rakuten Auction is currently using a system where the seller can set shipment options, including Japan Post’s Yu-Pack and Letter Pack services, from which the buyer can then select their preferred method of shipment. Japan Post’s Yu-Pack parcels, which can be sent from over 25,000 locations nationwide in Japan, including post offices and Yuyu-Madoguchi, uses the same flat shipping rate for all parcels up to a maximum of 30 kilograms. As such, this affordable service has become one of the most widely used shipping methods among Rakuten Auction users.

Rakuten Auction will continue to develop and provide new services together with Japan Post, with the consistent aim of improving user satisfaction in mind.
