To commemorate National Disability Independence Day on July 26, Rakuten Americas held a special Asakai organized by the Employee Diversity & Inclusion Committee on July 20, 2020.
The committee has previously held illuminating Asakais focused on themes such as "Black Lives Matter" and LGBTQ, discussing the importance of diversity and equality. This time, they aimed to offer an opportunity for employees to deepen their understanding of fellow coworkers with disabilities. Furthermore, at the Asakai on August 10, the top 3 entries in the Employee Diversity & Inclusion poster contest were announced.
These initiatives proved to be a great platform for employees to increase awareness and understanding of diversity and inclusion in a spirit of togetherness.
