Global Accessibility Awareness Day at Rakuten Kobo

On May 16, 2019, Rakuten Kobo's R&D team arranged a full day of events for the entire company for Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD).
This day is intended to create empathy and spread awareness around the experiences of users with disabilities, especially when using technology. The event, created by employees for employees, included an inspiring keynote by an external expert and demonstrations of assistive technologies. Kobo employees also led company-driven challenges for their colleagues to participate in, like "Keyboard Navigation Only." The end result was an informative and empowering "mini-conference" for employees who learned how they can help make a difference in society through technology.
