Taiwan Rakuten Card Increases Presence Offline

Upon entering the Taiwanese market in January 2015, Taiwan Rakuten Card leveraged its strength as a member of the Rakuten brand and has expanded its market through communicating benefits Taiwanese users can enjoy when travelling to Japan. But from April 2017, it launched a new initiative to combat competitors offering cut-throat discounts, and partnered with over 300 chains and restaurants in Taiwan to provide benefits to card users. RNN visited Jidai 1931, one of the Japanese restaurants partnering with Rakuten, to find out the results of this initiative.
