Rakuten AirMap Launches UTM System "AirMap"

December 7, 2017, Rakuten has, through its joint venture Rakuten AirMap, Inc. with California-based Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) company AirMap, Inc.
The launch of two services was announced at the press conference, one of Airspace Management Dashboard for airspace managers, and one of the AirMap app for drone operators. Utilizing the UTM platform, Rakuten Airmap will aim to build an infrastructure for the drone ecosystem in Japan by developing a safe and smooth drone operation environment for airspace managers and drone operators.
