A Diversity of Engineers and Topics at Rakuten Technology Conference

On November 21, 2015, the 9th Rakuten Technology Conference 2015 was held. The theme of the conference was "Our Crimson, Your Kaleidoscope." It was the first time for the conference to be held at the newly-opened Rakuten Crimson House. This year's conference focused on a "kaleidoscope" of diversity in terms of nationalities and topics. Dr. Yutaka Matsuo from the University of Tokyo spoke on the status of the current AI (artificial intelligence) boom. Other special guests involved on the front lines of technology trends, including Dr. Takeo Kanede from Carnegie Mellon University, which is renowned for robotics, also gave presentations. Furthermore, there was a lot of attention on programs introducing the technology developed by Rakuten Group companies from all over the world.
