Rakuten and Yamato Holdings Announce Collaboration to Improve Convenience in E-commerce

On July 6, 2015, Rakuten and Yamato Holdings announced that customers will be able to pick up products from Rakuten Ichiba at 20,000 convenience stores throughout the country*.
E-commerce has now grown into an indispensable part of people’s daily lives, and there has been demand for improved convenience to meet the needs of e-commerce users.
At the press conference, Mr. Yamauchi, President and Executive Director of Yamato Holdings, and Chairman and CEO of Rakuten, Hiroshi Mikitani, spoke about their outlook for the future.
* Convenience store pick-up is only available for products from merchants who use Yamato Transport.
