Rakuten Card Annual Gross Transaction Value for FY2020 Exceeds 11 Trillion Yen
For the 2020 fiscal year, Rakuten Card's gross transaction value exceeded 11 trillion yen, an increase of more than 20% year-over-year*1. This achievement is the result of a steady increase in the number of Rakuten Card cardholders, as well as an increase in the use of Rakuten Ichiba and other e-commerce services. The trend toward cashless transactions due to growing demand for contactless payment options for everyday purchases further contributed to this achievement.

In addition, Rakuten Card has also taken steps to attract new cardholders, including the development of new advertisements promoting credit card usage and issuing an assortment of cards with appealing visual designs. As a result, Rakuten Card has seen widespread adoption.
Rakuten Card will continue to strive to enhance its credit card service and expand its feature lineup, and make financial services more convenient, easy to use and accessible to customers in order to further improve customer satisfaction.
