Honda and Rakuten Conduct Trial of UGV delivery at University of Tsukuba

From July 19, 2021, Rakuten launched a trial of UGV (unmanned ground vehicle) delivery in collaboration with Honda*. on-campus at the University of Tsukuba and some sections of public road. The UGV was initially developed by Honda, and is equipped with a product delivery box provided by Rakuten. In this trial, the automated robot traveled over a route of about 500 meters, including sections of public road, within the Ibaraki-based university.
Going forward, Rakuten will continue to work on realizing services that contribute to resolving local issues through the use of UGV.
