Rakuten Mobile's "Zero Declaration" Redefines Industry Norms

On November 4, 2020, Rakuten Mobile held a virtual press conference to announce its "Zero Declaration" – a groundbreaking commitment to simplify the expensive and complicated mobile plans that are currently the norm in Japan, while improving the convenience of switching carriers. What's more, by combining a new eKYC (electronic Know Your Customer)* service with eSIM** compatibility, the company aims to realize a "new normal" for Japan's mobile industry, where customers can easily switch cellphone carriers anytime they wish.
