Rakuten Mobile Opens First Store in Kyushu Region

Rakuten Mobile opened its first retail store in July 2015 in Shinsaibashi, Osaka, followed by stores in Kobe, Nagoya and Ginza, Tokyo among other places. The opening of the Fukuoka store in May 2016 marked its ninth dedicated branch in Japan. Adding to the synergy from sales collaborations with mass retailers at 601 locations across Japan, Rakuten Mobile's user base is currently growing at a very healthy pace. In this report, RNN looks into the effects and results of Rakuten Mobile's strategy concerning offline stores in Japan.
