Rakuten Travel, Inc. (“Rakuten Travel,” President and CEO: Masashi Okatake, Head Office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo) today announced the conclusion of a business tie-up agreement with Japan’s first full-fledged low-cost carrier, Peach Aviation Limited (“Peach,” Representative Director and CEO: Shinichi Inoue, Head Office: Izumisano-shi, Osaka). With effect from December 27, 2012, Rakuten Travel will accept domestic accommodations and car rental bookings through Peach’s website for air ticket sales.
Beginning today, Rakuten Travel will provide domestic accommodation and car rental booking services on Peach’s air ticket sales website. The provision of these services was made possible through Rakuten Travel’s accommodation booking system, and in collaboration with Rakuten affiliates. With the launch of these services, Peach users will be able to freely select accommodations from among 27,000 domestic accommodation facilities registered with Rakuten Travel, to meet their business trip or travel objectives.
To date, Rakuten Travel has also tied up with other airline companies to provide accommodation booking services. These include the sale of the dynamic travel package known as “Raku Pack” in cooperation with All Nippon Airways Co., Ltd. and Japan Airlines Co., Ltd. The commencement of the new tie-up with Peach further enhances Rakuten Travel’s cooperation with airline companies, and Rakuten Travel will strive to provide highly convenient services to its users.
Going forward, Rakuten Travel will continue to enhance its line-up of products and services with the aim of becoming one of the Internet’s most reliable, comprehensive, and popular travel websites.
