Rakuten and Fusion Reach Agreement to
Transfer Rakuten Mobile Business

Tokyo, November 5, 2015 - Rakuten, Inc. (“Rakuten”) and Fusion Communications Corp. (“Fusion”), the communications company of the Rakuten Group, today announced that the two companies have reached an agreement to transfer the Rakuten Mobile MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) business operated by Fusion to Rakuten.

The transfer of the business is planned to take place on December 1, 2015, and the service will continue to be provided under the new operator, Rakuten. Current Rakuten Mobile users will be able to continue using the service as before without any additional applications or processes.

Until now, Rakuten and Fusion had collaborated in a variety of fields in the Rakuten Mobile business, but through the business transfer, the two companies aim to develop a more flexible business by defining each companies’ role as the service provider and the communications line provider.

Going forward, Rakuten will work to further develop the Rakuten Mobile business as the service provider.
