Rakuten Mobile to Begin Offering Tablet Devices

Tokyo, April 23, 2015 – Fusion Communications Corporation, the telecommunications company  of the Rakuten Group, today announced that from April 30, 2015, it will begin offering three types of tablets as part of its Rakuten Mobile device and data SIMs sets^*1. This will be the first time for tablets to be offered by Rakuten Mobile.

The three tablets are the “MeMO Pad 7 ME572CL” from ASUS Japan Co., Ltd., the “LaVie Tab S TS708/T1W” from NEC Corporation, and the “YOGA Tablet 2-1051L” from Lenovo Japan Corporation.

The launch of the data SIM service on March 16, 2015, and the expansion of the lineup of devices to include tablets allows Rakuten mobile to meet the needs of customers that would like to be able to use their tablets wherever they go.

Rakuten Mobile will continue to work on expanding its range of mobile devices, in order to meet the diverse needs of its customers.

MeMO Pad 7 ME572CL
A light and slim-bodied 7-inch Android™ tablet with a refined design. Weighing only approximately 279 grams and with a thickness of about 8.3mm, this tablet is highly portable and can be held in one hand. The battery can last for up to 11 hours of use, enabling long hours of video playback and internet use.

LaVie Tab S TS708/T1W
A high-performance Android™ tablet with an Intel® Atom processor and 2GB dual channel memory. The 8-inch IPS liquid crystal display features a wide viewing angle, with little variation in color, brightness, and contrast even when viewed from an angle. Weighing only approximately 310 grams and with a thickness of 7.9mm, the tablet is highly portable and was designed to be a great companion for travelers.

YOGA Tablet 2-1051L
A 10.1-inch Windows tablet equipped with “Windows 8.1 with Bing.” The angle of the screen can be adjusted, enabling a wide range of uses. The tablet comes preinstalled with Microsoft Office Home and Business 2013, which features Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook.

^*1 The tablets are scheduled to ship on May 1, 2015.
^*2 Prices are tax-inclusive. The tax-exclusive installment payment price is the same as the lump-sum price. There are no installment payment fees. Installment payments can only be made with a Rakuten Card. The price of each installment is calculated by subtracting the Rakuten Super Points payment sum and then dividing the total by 24. Fractional sums will be rounded up and the amount will be added to the first installment sum.
