Rakuten Opens First Branch Office in Hokuriku Area

TOKYO, March 4, 2015 – Rakuten, Inc. today announced that it has opened the Kanazawa Branch Office, its first branch office in Hokuriku area in order to strengthen its support systems for merchants on Rakuten Ichiba and hotels registered on Rakuten Travel in Hokuriku area. The opening ceremony for the new branch was held today and work began at the office on March 2, 2015.

Since the establishment of the Osaka Branch Office in 2000, Rakuten has been opening branch offices nationwide with the goal of providing on-hand support to merchants on Rakuten Ichiba and the hotels registered on Rakuten Travel around the country. The newly-opened Kanazawa Branch Office will be the company’s 17th location in Japan, and its first in the Hokuriku area (Toyama Prefecture, Ishikawa Prefecture and Fukui Prefecture).

Through opening the Kanazawa Branch Office, Rakuten will strengthen its sales promotion support for its merchants on Rakuten Ichiba and hotels registered on Rakuten Travel, contributing to the economic revitalization and development of the Hokuriku area.
