Rakuten Edy will be accepted for ANA My Choice service and inflight sales on ANA domestic routes

TOKYO, Mar 28, 2013 - All Nippon Airways Co., Ltd. (hereafter “ANA”), Canon Marketing Japan Inc. (“Canon MJ”) and Rakuten Edy, Inc. (“Rakuten Edy”) announced today that the companies would be introducing a payment system allowing for inflight shopping on ANA domestic routes using Rakuten Edy e-money. The service will launch on Monday, July 1. This will mark the first time e-money transactions have been made possible on Japanese domestic flights. The inflight sales system has been jointly developed by Canon MJ and ANA.

Instead of paying for inflight beverages (ANA My Choice) or goods purchases with notes and coins, passengers will now be able to use IC cards pre-charged with Edy, or mobile phones and smartphones equipped with the Osaifu-Keitai® feature, bringing new convenience to inflight shopping.*

ANA is committed to continuously improving the convenience and comfort of its inflight service. It invites customers to enjoy using Rakuten Edy e-money on board ANA domestic flights for My Choice selections and inflight shopping.

*Osaifu-Keitai® can be used even when a mobile phone or smartphone is turned off.

Rakuten Edy e-money payments will be accepted for inflight shopping and ANA My Choice transactions on all ANA domestic
routes*, in addition to the existing options of cash and credit card. Moreover, one mile is awarded for every 200 yen (including tax) paid using Rakuten Edy on an ANA Mileage Club Edy Card, an Edy function ANA Mileage Club Card, or a Osaifu-Keitai® account registered with the “KEITAI de Edy Mile” service.

* Excluding codeshare flights with other carriers.

Inflight Rakuten Edy transactions will be carried out by cabin crew using Canon PRea AT-3700 handheld terminals.
