Wazuka long-established tea store "Nakaoen Tea Shop".
We have been producing and selling Japanese tea in Wazuka since the 6th year of Meiji period (1873). In the present time around 50% of Kyoto Uji's tea is brought up in Wazuka.
There are various types of Japanese tea, and each of them has a different taste. However, all the Japanese teas are made from the same tea plant. The harverst season, the part of the plant used, and the manufactoring process have all an influence on which variety of tea you'll have at the end.
Among the many Japanese tea producers, the Wazuka tea farmers method differs in particular in the steaming process. We are using shorter steaming process to maximize the aroma, taste and shape of the leaves.
Since the Meiji era, we have been producing the finest Japanese tea carefully selected by Nakaoen, and now, we also want people from all over the world to be able to enjoy it. We hope you will appreciate our Japanese tea.
