IMCO was founded as a manufacturer of the metal button in Austria in 1907. In 1912, I started the production of the writer by a request from the Austrian government. Under World War I, the appearance of the E fur which I could fire by a single action had a great influence all over the world.
The 1930s begins, and the appearance of Zippo is after. It is the rare writer who is continued making as a design at the time until today. In the Austrian military at the time, I was used for again slight means of communication as firing tools such as open fires in a substitute, the outdoors of the light at hand. IMCO is the oil lighter which came out of an Austrian national policy.
