Gate City of the World, Izumisano

What is known of Izumisano City, Osaka?

Located midway between Osaka and Wakayama Cities, Izumisano City is rich in beautiful sylvan mountains and streams, with the Izumi mountain range, part of which is designated as Kongo-Ikoma-Kisen Quasi-National Park, lying behind.

The city, where commerce, industry, agriculture and fishery had flourished in a balanced manner, now sees its commerce, particularly the service sector, increasingly thriving with a population growth triggered primarily by the opening of Kansai International Airport.

It is a city with a population of over 100,000 people that has “Kansai International Airport” and “Inunakiyama Onsen,” the only hot-spring village in Osaka Prefecture. With the lovely scenery surrounded by community-based forests as well as nostalgic landscapes remaining everywhere, it is also a modern city that has “RINKU TOWN,” one of the most popular tourist attractions in the Kansai region, in its coastal area and the globally accessible “Kansai International Airport” off its coast, beyond a bridge.
