There was an article in yesterday’s Yomiuri Shimbun stating that Mizuho Financial Group, Inc. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Masahiro Kihara) will make an investment in Rakuten Bank, Ltd. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Tomotaka Torin). However, this information was not announced by Rakuten Group, Inc. (the ”Company”).
As announced in the "Notice Concerning Re-Commencement of Discussions toward the Reorganization of Rakuten’s FinTech Business" dated February 25, 2026, although the Company is currently examining the reorganization of the FinTech business of Rakuten Group; however, the Company has not made any decision regarding this matter at present.
The Company will disclose information in a timely and appropriate manner once a decision is made on anything that must be disclosed.
