Tokyo, October 16, 2015 – Fusion Communications Corporation, the telecommunications company of the Rakuten Group, today announced that it will open two new dedicated Rakuten Mobile stores this month. The Rakuten Mobile Nagoya Sakae Store (Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture) will be open for business from October 22, and the Rakuten Mobile Ginza Store (Chuo-ku, Tokyo) from October 29.
At the new stores, as well as being able to receive explanations about the services offered by Rakuten Mobile and apply for contracts, customers will also be able to freely pick up and try the devices on display in the stores. In addition, customers will be able to carry out mobile number portability applications (MNP)*1 on the same day.
To commemorate the opening of the two new stores, the first 20 customers to apply for Rakuten Mobile contracts each day over the four days from the opening of the stores will receive free monthly calling SIM or data SIM fees for a set period of time, with customers applying at the Rakuten Mobile Nagoya Sakae Store receiving free monthly calling SIM or data SIM fees until the end of January 2015, and customers applying at the Rakuten Mobile Ginza Store receiving free monthly calling SIM or data SIM fees until the end of February 2015. In addition, customers which apply for Rakuten Mobile contracts at the Rakuten Mobile Nagoya Sakae Store from October 22 to 25 will be entered into a draw in which 12 customers will receive either an “honor6 Plus” of “Xperia™ J1 Compact” smartphone*2.
Rakuten Mobile currently has counters set up in two Rakuten CAFE branches in Tokyo, and operates three dedicated Rakuten Mobile stores located in Osaka, Sendai, and Kobe. With the opening of the two new dedicated stores, this increases the number of locations to seven. From October 16, Rakuten Mobile will also begin operating counters at electronics stores.
Rakuten Mobile will work to enhance its services so that they can be used by as many people as possible.
