Tokyo, April 17, 2015 - Rakuten, Inc., operator of Rakuten GORA, one of Japan’s largest golf course reservation sites, today announced that the Rakuten GORA app for iOS*1 ”Rakuten GORA Golf Course Reservation” is now compatible with the Apple Watch, and can be used with the Apple Watch from April 24, 2015. The Apple Watch compatible app is now available for download of the App Store.
The Apple Watch compatible Rakuten GORA app allows users to quickly and easily record their score through their Apple Watch whilst playing golf, without having to take their iPhone out of their pocket or bag. After play, the score data input into the Apple Watch can be sent to the users iPhone, allowing the user can check their score and analyze their play data through the Rakuten GORA app for iOS or the Rakuten GORA website.
Rakuten GORA has already released Rakuten GORA Scorecard, an app for Android WearTM*2 compatible smart watches, and by offering an Apple Watch compatible version of its iOS app, it aims to bring its service to a wider audience.
Going forward, Rakuten GORA will continue to expand its services to make golf even more enjoyable and convenient for its users.

How to use the app:
1. Download the Rakuten GORA Golf Course Reservation app for iOS from the App Store*3.
2. Before starting play, select the golf course currently being played at from the menu on the iPhone app*4.
3. Launch the Apple Watch app from the score input screen of the iPhone app.
4. Input the score into the Apple Watch application.*5
5. After play, the score data can be sent to the iPhone.
6. The user can view their score and analyze their play through the Rakuten GORA app or the Rakuten GORA website.
*1 iOS is an operating system for mobile devices offered by Apple
*2 Android WearTM is an operating system for wearable devices offered by Google
*3 Before using the app on the Apple Watch, it is necessary to pair the iPhone with the Apple Watch
*4 Golf courses that are not listed on the app can be registered by the user
