Tokyo, April 7, 2015 - Rakuten, Inc. today announced that it will open the second Rakuten CAFE at the Futako Tamagawa Rise Shopping Center, located in Tokyo’s Setagaya-ku, on April 24, 2015.
The Futako Tamagawa Rise Shopping Center branch of Rakuten CAFE will be established inside the Futako Tamagawa Rise Shopping Center Terrace Market, a commercial facility to be opened by Tokyu Corporation and Tokyu Land Corporation on the same day.
Similar to the first Rakuten CAFE that was opened on Shibuya Koen-dori, in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, in May 2014, this new café will provide a space that allows customers to experience various service offered by Rakuten. In addition to providing a popular sweets, food, and drinks menu from Rakuten Ichiba, Rakuten CAFE is also equipped free Wi-Fi. Furthermore, a 50% discount will be offered on certain drinks*1 when payment is made with a Rakuten Card, and a 20% discount will be offered when payment is made through Rakuten Edy. There are also plans to provide a premium menu that will only be available at the Futako Tamagawa Rise Shopping Center branch.
Following Shibuya and Sendai, this will also be the third location in Japan with a Rakuten Mobile counter, at which customers can inquire about and make applications for the Rakuten Mobile service.
Both the exterior and interior designs of the new Rakuten CAFE were created under the supervision of Creative Director, Kashiwa Sato. The interior of the cafe, with its wood fittings, exudes a calm atmosphere that matches the ambience of Futako Tamagawa.
Rakuten will continue to expand the establishment of Rakuten CAFE stores, which serve as spaces that connect Rakuten’s online and offline services, and introduce new audiences to Rakuten services.
