Tokyo, July 5, 2012 – Rakuten, Inc. (JASDAQ: 4755), Japan’s top e-commerce company, announced today that it will set up interactive displays showcasing the Kobo Touch eReader in major bookstores across Japan leading up to the launch of eBook services on July 19, 2012.
The Kobo Touch eReader is a leading eBook reader used by 9 million people in 190 countries around the world, including Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and France. Rakuten will set up interactive displays at select Maruzen, Junkudo, Bunkyodo and Tsutaya bookstore locations in advance of the Kobo Touch eReader’s launch to provide consumers with an opportunity to use the eReader and raise the visibility of eBook services, which are set to commence in Japan.
