5G Virtual Drone Tour Conducted by Rakuten Mobile in Kobe

Rakuten Mobile utilized its 5G network to successfully carry out a demonstration of a "virtual drone tour" above the city of Kobe, Japan. The goal of this experiment was to promote Kobe tourism by offering visiting Vissel Kobe fans a new stadium experience to make the most of their time before and after matches. Participants sitting in the stadium remotely controlled a drone as it streamed footage of Kobe in real-time overlayed with AR content to receive sightseeing information and coupons.
