From September 30 to October 1, 2016, a "Rackathon" was held at Rakuten Crimson House. This event was planned with the aim of "providing an environment for engineers to make free ideas into real services," and was guided by three themes of "Shop Easy," "Innovation in Mobile Payments" and "Automation Scavenger Hunt." Over the two days, seven teams made up of 30 participants from a range of departments, including sales personnel, developers and designers, took up the challenge of producing a working prototype from a service idea.
