- Be One Global TeamPoom always longed to experience the world and hoped to merge passion with his profession by joining the global Rakuten Travel team. Today, Poom is the Manager of Rakuten Travel’s Growth Hack Development Group. He gets to explore the world both outside the office through his travels and inside the office beside his global team.
- Realize Your DreamsMaddy, a UX/UI Designer combines her creative inspiration and technical capabilities to spearhead web training programs centered around accessibility. Inspired by her two hearing-impaired grandparents and driven to create a more accessible world for all, Maddy has made her mark at Rakuten and in the fast-growing engineering field.
- Reach New HeightsYosuke joined the Rakuten team as a new graduate in 2007. His hard work caught the attention of our CEO, who offered Yosuke an opportunity to “try something new.” What was this new endeavor? Baseball. Half-scared, half-excited to embark on this venture, Yosuke remembered an important element of Rakuten’s culture embodied by the phrase, “even if you fail, there is much to be gained from it.” Despite the unknown, he took on the challenge and is President of Rakuten’s Golden Eagles today.
- Empower A Better WorldVanessa harnesses her passion for sports and applies some of the key principles of sportsmanship - not giving up, believing in yourself, and respecting your opponent - to create an environment where her team members can excel. Vanessa believes sports can change people and people can change the world. She strives to instill this belief in her team members as she empowers them to make an impact on the world through the work they do together.
