Parasports Experience Park by Rakuten

Held in Fukuchi Town! Local Children Experience Parasports

On December 15, 2024, Rakuten Group hosted the "Parasports Experience Park by Rakuten" in Fukuchi Town, Fukuoka Prefecture. This event was a direct result of the comprehensive partnership agreement between Rakuten Group and Fukuchi Town, and aligned perfectly with the theme of "Powered by Sports. Playing for All. A BETTER FUTURE TOGETHER." Its core purpose was to provide local children with an invaluable opportunity to directly experience parasports.

The event featured special guest appearances by Kazuhei Kimura, a distinguished member of the Paracycling Japan National Team, and Futo Nagamori, a designated player for the Blind Soccer® Japan National Team. Children participated in blind stretches, wearing eye masks to sharpen their other senses, offering a unique perspective.

For the main parasports experience, diverse activity areas were thoughtfully set up. These included a "Tandem Cycling Game," a "Blind Soccer® Penalty Kick Experience," a "Wheelchair Tennis Circuit," and a "Para Athletics Throwing Experience." Through active cooperation, determination, and hands-on participation, the children were able to personally experience the profound sense of achievement and enjoyment that parasports offer.

Beyond the physical activities, Rakuten Group further deepened understanding of parasports through an engaging stamp rally and a quiz competition. The event also provided local cuisine for lunch and offered creative art workshops. Participants praised the event as a "refreshing experience," and guest athlete Kazuhei Kimura encouraged everyone to "challenge different things." This event ultimately became a valuable opportunity for children to deepen mutual understanding through sports and collaboratively build "A BETTER FUTURE TOGETHER."
