Playing for a Greener Future: Decarbonization Action
In the autumn of 2025, Rakuten Group organized the "Decarbonization Action in Kobe" event, held at Noevir Stadium Kobe. This initiative was a key part of Rakuten's broader vision: "Powered by Sports. Playing for All. A BETTER FUTURE TOGETHER." The event's primary goal was to promote "Decarbonization Action" —a national movement by the Ministry of the Environment encouraging new, enriched lifestyles that contribute to decarbonization—by leveraging the power of sports, and to collaboratively create an eco-friendly future.
A highlight of this event was Rakuten Group's experiential content called "Wakekko Shoot." This engaging activity allowed participants to learn about proper waste separation through a game. By shooting balls, representing different types of trash, into designated goals, participants were encouraged to raise their awareness of effective waste separation practices.
"Wakekko Shoot" directly aligns with the principles of "A Greener Future," which advocates for creating a rich environment where sports can continue to be enjoyed, as championed by "Powered by Sports. Playing for All. A BETTER FUTURE TOGETHER." It provided a fun and interactive opportunity to learn about sustainable actions. Through this engaging experience, Rakuten Group hopes that participants will be inspired to integrate decarbonization actions into their daily lives.
In addition to "Wakekko Shoot," various other impactful decarbonization actions were implemented at the venue. These included workshops for upcycling stadium facade materials and bringing resource collection stations, known as "Econova," to the stadium.
