- Purchasing from merchants who do not ship overseas directly
- Chances are, if you shop at Rakuten frequently, you may encounter a
merchant or two who accepts foreign credit cards, but are unable to ship to
Singapore directly. In such cases, you will not see an option for Rakuten
International Shipping Services in the order form. The ideal scenario in
such a situation will be to have a friend or relative living in Japan to
accept the shipment for you, and forward it to your Singapore address. This
is unfortunately not the case for most of us, but there still is a way
around this. There are companies providing freight forwarding services that
can help fill this need.
An example of such a service is vPost by Singapore Post. This service provides
the user with a virtual Japan address which will accept your shipment on
your behalf, and forwards it to you with a handling and shipping fee.
Another similar service is provided by Tenso.com. If you do decide to make
use of such a service, do remember to take advantage of free domestic
shipping offers by your Rakuten merchant if any. Do also take note of what
items these freight forwarding services are not able to ship to Singapore
which are normally listed on their website.

- The little island light of the south!
- You may have heard of Chinatown, Kampong Glam or even little India! But with Singapore being a place of diverse culture, Its not hard to find Japanese Fashion in this little island state! The truth is, Singapore is becoming more and more like a mini-Tokyo minus the cooling temperature in Japan! Armed with high speed internet and a ever increasing stations of subway makes this little island small but packed with power! With the internet nowadays, online shopping have become so popular that even my Grandma next door do her groceries online! (Oh wait, Maybe I make that one up But nonetheless you get the point). Two such site is Rakuten Travel and Rakuten Ichiba. There, you can find the cheapest deal for hotels, motels, air tickets, bags, jeans and jackets! You name it! Not just stylish, but also afford able as well. Thou many at times, you may have to take some time to search because of the vastness of the shops, it is still very much a pleasurable experience. Now due to the nature of online shopping. The shipping is normally quite pricey but fret not! Nothing beats shopping online for that one single unique item that only you have at this part of the world! One really favorite section of mine that I always browse is the Blazer Jacket section under the “Men's Clothing & Shoes”. Its hard to find a jacket that is stylish but yet with a touch of formal for people working in my line. So being a lover of jackets, imagine the joy when I see so many different design that I felt really catered to my needs! Other than jackets. I also loved to look at shoes! With the many brands available, I'm sure you will be able to find the right design just for you!
With this, Singapore have more or less on a personal note of mine been gearing towards how the Japanese always dress. With Style and Class! And couple with today's technology, its no wonder why the late Japanese still refers this island state as the little island light of the south(if you get what I meant). Mata nei! Time for some serious shopping!

- Why Rakuten is so Fun to Shop?
- I started buying from Rakuten not very long ago. But the shopping experience is so pleasant that you cannot get rid of the temptation to purchase from Rakuten. There are so many exclusive stuff that you can only find here. The most recent stuff I bought from Rakuten is a shoulder bag and I really love it! Many branded stuff are in unbelivable low price and of course- all are authentic! Not like some other on-line shops, you should never worry about if the received goods are in unsatisfactory condition .Indeed they are all in excellent quality and sometimes I find them even better than the shown pictures! I always received my goods very quickly. Believe me, receiving your parcel could be the happiest moment of a day after you started shopping at Rakuten.

- Best Baby and Maternity Goods!
- I started my shopping at Rakuten because of a KAO duster I saw on the KAO
Japanese website but which is not available in Singapore -
花王 クイックルワイパーハンディ 伸び縮みタイプ. I first saw the Rakuten's advertisement on the
Facebook, and decide to look for it there. So I copy and paste the name of this
product on the Rakuten website and that started my first purchase. It was very
convenient - the search results yielded a list of shops selling the product and
I just picked the one that is selling the product at its cheapest price.
However, I found that buying household products to be flown in from Japan like
this is not economical and so I turned to shopping for clothes instead. Because
it is the summer season in Japan, there are a lot of designs available. However,
since I could not try the clothes, I played it safe by buying loose-fitting
tunics and cropped pants. The seller's page provides many pictures of how to
coordinate the dresses, tunics, leggings, cropped pants, with bags, shoes, bags,
etc., so that I immediate know how to wear them once I recieved the clothes. To
date, I had bought 3 cropped pants and 10 pieces of tunics. They are all from
the same shop because I wanted to save on the shipping cost. They are very
comfortable and reasonably-priced. So far, I have not encountered any problem
with the quality or workmanship.
I especially like the Japanese maternity and breastfeeding wear I saw on
the Rakuten. The designs are very cheerful and look so comfortable to wear. For
these range of clothing, I rely a lot of reviews given by customers who had
actually bought and wore them. However, after the reviews were
googled-translated from the Japanese langauge, I can only manage to
understand 20-50 percent of what the customers had written (regardless of
whether I chose the English or Chinese translation). So I based my decisions on
my intuition and the number of "stars" given by the users.
Now, I log in to Rakuten almost everyday hoping to catch good buys from summer
clearance sale.
