今回で3本目のiizaの包丁です。見ているだけで惚れ惚れする包丁です。

今まで安い三徳包丁しか使ったことがなかったので、今回が牛刀デビューです。 購入にあたっては240と210どっちにするかで悩みましたが、我が家のキッチンがあまり広くないため210を選びました。 実際に物が届いての印象は、包丁というより「刀」といった感じで、刃の長さは210でも長く感じるくらいでしたが、独特のグリップ形状が握りやすく、また重量バランスが絶妙で取り回しやすく、実際に使ってみるとすぐに長さは気にならなくなりました。 切れ味に関してはスゴイの一言です。食材毎では、 【葉物野菜】包丁の重さだけで、まな板にナイフを置きにいくと切れているという感じ。 【根菜類】ベタですが熱いナイフをバターに入れるような感じでスゥ~と刃が入って行きます。 【肉・魚】今回一番驚いたのは切断した箇所のエッジが崩れず立っていることでした。特に刺身は食感がベタっ→ツルッとした感じになり確実に美味しくなりました。 難点を挙げるとすれば、この切れ味では力を入れる場面自体があまりないかもしれませんが、グリップの太さがSサイズのゴム手袋を使うくらい手が小さい私でも気持ち細く感じるくらいなので、手の大きい人には頼りなく感じるかもしれません。 足元にうっかり落とした時のことを想像すると少々怖くなりますが、刃紋の美しさと相まって使うたびに満足感を感じる一本です。

正直、見た目重視で購入しました(笑) とにかく刃の模様が凄く綺麗です。 この為に買ったと言っても過言ではありません。 使ってみた感想は、まず握りやすさ。 柄の形としては握りやすいのですが、若干柄が短いので女性は良いかもしれませんが、手の大きい男性が使う場合が少しフィット感に欠けるかもしれません。 そして切れ味。 これは文句無しです。 何を切るにしても不満が出ることは無いと思います。 少々値段は張りますが、総合的に見て買って損は無い包丁だと思います。
