Rakuten Card and JCB to launch Disney design Rakuten Card and Rakuten Pink Card

Tokyo, February 19, 2018 - Rakuten Card Co., Ltd. (Rakuten Card) and JCB Co., Ltd. (JCB) today announced that the two companies will begin accepting applications for and issuing a Rakuten Card and Rakuten Pink Card featuring Disney-themed designs starting from February 19, 2018.

The Disney-design Rakuten Card and Rakuten Pink Card will be issued by Rakuten Card, with JCB as the Disney-Design Card Master Licensee and an official marketing alliance partner of The Walt Disney Company (Japan) Ltd. When applying for a Rakuten Card or Rakuten Pink Card, users will be able to choose a Disney-design card, which will offer the same high Rakuten Super Point rewards with no annual membership fee as the standard Rakuten Card. The Rakuten Pink Card, a card specifically aimed at women, also features a range of optional services that can be customized to suit the lifestyle of the cardholder for an additional monthly usage fee.

To commemorate the launch of the new Disney-design Rakuten Card and Rakuten Pink Card, Rakuten Card will hold a campaign in which 3,000 customers applying for one of the new cards will go into a draw to receive an original Disney-themed tumbler.

Since its launch in July 2005, Rakuten Card has found popularity for not requiring users to pay annual membership fees, and for offering high Rakuten Super Point rewards that can be used on other Rakuten group services. Rakuten Card has been ranked number one for customer satisfaction in the credit card category in the Japanese Customer Satisfaction Index for nine consecutive years.

Going forward, Rakuten Card and JCB will continue to strive to enhance its credit card service and features in order to further improve customer satisfaction.
