Tokyo, August 1, 2017 – Rakuten Card Co., Ltd. today announced that it will open its first member-exclusive Rakuten Card Lounge in Waikiki, Hawaii. The lounge will be operated by Rakuten Card USA, Inc., a subsidiary of the Rakuten Card Group, and is slated to begin operations from August 1 (local time).
Rakuten Card Lounge is a lounge*1 available to tourists and business travelers from Japan who hold Rakuten Card*2. In addition to offering temporary baggage storage and a welcome drink while members wait for their hotel check-in or flight, the lounge also offers massage chairs to relax in, a kids’ playroom, nursing room and stroller rentals – all at no charge. Furthermore, the lounge provides assistance for lost or stolen credit cards while traveling, and handles inquiries about the credit card such as how to use ATMs.
Rakuten Card Lounge also features Rakuten Travel Desk from Rakuten Travel, the Rakuten Group’s travel reservation service, where local staff offer a range of services such as restaurant and spa reservations, and bookings for optional tours and an airport shuttle service. Travelers booking accommodations and/or flights with Rakuten Travel will receive Rakuten Travel Special Passes, which give them the same preferential services enjoyed by Rakuten Card members, including discounts at restaurants and other affiliated stores. These Rakuten Group services will help make for more enjoyable trips to Hawaii.
Hawaii is one of the most popular travel destinations for Rakuten Travel, and opening the Rakuten Card Lounge in Waikiki increases the physical touchpoints for members to use their Rakuten Card for various services offered by the Rakuten Group. Rakuten Group aims to further enhance convenience and customer satisfaction by maximizing the synergies of the Group.
