Rakuten Group Rebrands AIRIO Life Insurance as Rakuten Life

TOKYO, April 1, 2013 – Rakuten Life Insurance Co., Ltd., announced today that the company has changed its registered name from AIRIO Life Insurance Co., Ltd., effective April 1, 2013.

Rakuten Life Insurance will aim to lower insurance premiums even further, make its products even easier to understand, and further simplify enrollment procedures. It will also continue to deliver compassionate, accessible services through the Internet and its approximately 7,000 insurance agencies across Japan. As a hybrid insurance company offering services through both offline agencies and the Internet, Rakuten Life Insurance will work to develop new life insurance solutions that make use of the Internet and further meet customer needs.
