August 27, 2012 - Kobo Inc. a global leader in eReading with more than 10 million registered users and a subsidiary of Rakuten Inc., today announced the availability of a new model of the Kobo Touch eReader in Japan that includes a new Wi-Fi Easy Set-Up function. Wi-Fi Easy Set-Up allows the Kobo Touch eReader to be initialized easily on its own without a PC through a Wi-Fi connection and is available first in the Japan market before any other country.
Devices purchased after 9:00am on August 27 will include the Wi-Fi Easy Set-Up function and a new simplified manual. In addition, Kobo has established additional customer support resources including an exclusive customer support site to provide additional information and tools including a step-by-step video on the set-up procedure.
The Kobo Customer Care center will continue to provide support by both phone and e-mail for 24 hours after purchase.
For those that purchased a kobo Touch eReader before 9:00am on August 27 and have not yet initialized the device, a free upgrade to include the WiFi Easy Set-Up function is available by visiting the Free Update website and completing the appropriate process.
