Rakuten Bank Opens an Account to Accept
Donations for Relief for People Affected by Floods
Overseas (Sri Lanka, Brazil and Australia)

We would like to express our heartfelt sympathies to those affected by the floods in Sri Lanka, Brazil and Australia, and their families. Rakuten Bank, Ltd. (“Rakuten Bank,” President and CEO Atsushi Kunishige, Head Office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo), an Internet-based bank, opened a bank account today exclusively designated for accepting donations for relief efforts to help those affected by the floods in these three countries. Rakuten Ichiba, an online shopping mall operated by Rakuten, Inc. (“Rakuten,” Chairman and CEO: Hiroshi Mikitani, Head Office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo), and other services have also established donation windows.

If you have an account with Rakuten Bank, you can donate relief money through your account 24 hours a day. Those who do not have accounts with Rakuten Bank can transfer donations directly to the designated account at Rakuten Bank. Your generous support would be much appreciated.

All donations received will be provided as funds for flood relief efforts and activities to support the reconstruction of affected areas through the Japanese Red Cross Society (donations will be distributed to the affected areas according to a ratio to be determined by the Japanese Red Cross Society). We will be accepting donations from today through Thursday, March 31, 2011.

As part of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities of the Rakuten Group, Rakuten Bank hopes to generate as much support as possible via the Internet to raise donations for flood victims.
