Rakuten GORA Begins Trial of Drone-utilizing Service.

From autumn 2020, the online golf reservation service Rakuten GORA* will begin providing a new service that utilizes drones to efficiently manage golf courses.
Ahead of this, on June 1, Rakuten GORA began trialing the service at Asami Golf Club in Ibaraki Prefecture.
Until now, golf course management required the course manager's visual inspection of the turf and other maintenance areas, demanding much time and effort.
By introducing this service, the course manager can use dedicated software to analyze the course images taken by the drone, and manage multiple courses at once.
Since information such as turf surface temperature and damaged areas can be known, this enables saving of manpower on previously time-consuming course management tasks, and optimization of spraying of chemicals and fertilizer.
In recent years, the golf industry has been facing a significant shortage of course managers, so the introduction of this service should help by reducing workload.
Keep a close eye on this new service development, as Rakuten GORA continues to Walk Together with golf courses to boost management efficiency!
