Rescue Hotel Project Supports Japan's Medical Crisis

Amidst heightened concerns in Japan over the coronavirus, Rakuten Travel launched a “Rescue Hotel Project" with the aim of protecting the safety of everyone in society. It involved around 280 ITCs (Internet Travel Consultants) nationwide, who supported hotels in accepting patients with little to no symptoms. Rakuten Travel was also able to share information with governmental entities, and developed a system for local governments to search and book a room at a participating hotel.
