The Rakuten IT School Championship 2016 was held as the culmination of the Rakuten IT School CSR initiative, which gives high school students the chance to experience the world of online sales together with Rakuten employees and merchants over the course of a year. On the day of the championship, students and teachers from 63 participating high schools gathered from all over Japan. Having learned about the possibilities of the internet and honed their business skills, they finally presented the webpages they had made to the judges as they competed to be champion.
